Honolulu Tech Week: Advanced Manufacturing, September 9, 2025

Pacific Impact Zone (PIZ) brought together more than 150 attendees at its downtown Honolulu space for Building the Future: Advanced Manufacturing in Hawai‘i as part of Honolulu Tech Week 2025. The event featured dynamic panel discussions, live Q&A sessions, hands-on demonstrations, and closed with a lively Pau Hana celebration.

With panelists joining from across the country, conversations explored some of the biggest questions shaping Hawai‘i’s innovation landscape:

  • How can advanced manufacturing transform industries such as housing, healthcare, education, and defense?
  • What does the current state of advanced manufacturing look like across the Islands?
  • How can business owners, leaders, students, and educators get involved?

The event spotlighted opportunities for Hawai‘i to leverage advanced manufacturing as both an economic driver and a platform for innovation. Interactive demonstrations allowed participants to see firsthand the possibilities of new technologies, while panel dialogues underscored the importance of workforce development and collaboration across sectors.

“This event opened up ample opportunities and partnerships for us, as we collectively embrace the trajectory of advanced manufacturing across the state,” said Kevin Miyashiro, CEO of Pacific Impact Zone. “Our goal is to ensure Hawai‘i not only keeps pace with global innovation but also shapes it with solutions rooted in our unique local context.”

Pacific Impact Zone will continue to expand its role as a convener and catalyst for innovation, supporting entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and government partners as Hawai‘i strengthens its advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
